UTAH city of St. George |
 |
| |
 |
|
I have picked Dixie College to go to school. Utah - why in the world Utah? Well, my favorite american family had some family there so they told me that they would take care of me. When I got to St. George it was like Marsian landscape - all red. As you can see on the picture on the left the clay rocks are RED, it is really futuristic!
I started to like the town when I got the car because I could go places. It is a neat small town 1.5 hours away from Las Vegas. Nice!

ACADEMICS my first college experience! |
 |
| |
My first days of university - I was shaking like a leaf on the wind - I was alone, without my friends and family, in a new place, new everything. I had to adjust to the new life in college, where unlike high school, no one makes you do anything - you pay for your own education.
School actually went really good. Dixie is a really small school and after a while you start to know everyone around. I have declared myself as a Business / Information Systems major and started to take very complex classes. I had to catch up with some english, but I picked up the new terminology fast and was making progress in classes. I have done really well in my computer classes and that is where I knew that I will be good with computers. I have taken advanced classes in graphics/web design, programming, and databases.
Eventually I had ran out of good computer classes. It was a time for me to move on to bigger and better things, so I moved back to Sacramento, CA.

I THINK I'M TURNING JAPANESE making new friends on campus |
 |
| |
I was all by myself the first day. However, I started to make friends soon. All my friendships became possible thanks to the wonderful lady, international student coordinator, Loya Garrett. I discovered that there were a lot of japanese students on campus, as well several other students from all around the world, as far as Tahiti.
As an international student I was involved in many different activities such as trips, camp outs, cookouts, shows, and other gatherings.
I have also played soccer at Dixie, along with several Japanese players and many other cool guys. In addition, I got to meet many mormon people (Utah's primary religion), most of whom were really nice. The picture that you see on the right is the Dixie College Parade, where we, as an international club, participated in it and walked with flags representing our countries.

HAVING FUN UNDER THE UTAH'S SUN what to do when it is 110F outside? |
 |
| |
Go to the lake!!! Utah has a really hot climate during summer, very hot and dry. So when it gets really got in town, we head gone to the lake jet skiing, sunbathing, and just chilling. Another place to go is Dairy Queen in town! For more action, we go to play beach volleyball or soccer.
But in the evening it gets chilly because the city is in the elevated desert plato, so when the sun goes down you better put your jeans and sweatshirt on. In winter it gets rather cold and for the two years I have been there it snowed once. It is only because the city is in the southern Utah. If we were in Salt Lake City, it would snow like crazy!
Well, there is a lot more to tell and I might add more information and even a photo gallery later. Again, thanks for visiting.
