This was the first time I have been to the Auto show in the United States. Last time I have been to the real auto show was in spring of 1995 when I was working as a sports analyst and a translator for an automobile newspaper in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Of course that show was mostly targeted towards European cars. This time in Chicago it was all American and Japanese. However I didn't regret. Heck no... I flew from Minneapolis to Chicago just to see the show! The shaw was really big, it took my friends and me about 4 hours to walk through the entire show. There were a lot of exhibits, about 30 companies presented their cars at the show.

Impressions? Well, I don't think I have enough words or time or web space on the server to describe my impressions. It was a great show, with minor glitches. First, I liked was that most of the cars were accessible to the public, so you could sit down, adjust the seat, etc. Second, I liked that most all display had people explaining cars, could answer your questions, and reward you with free stuff. Now, several things were pretty bad about the show. First, people were rude, like when you take the picture, they get in from of you. Second - some smart ones decided to have some extra souvenirs from a show by screwing off different parts of interior, like stereo buttons, gear shifter handles, etc..
