| LOS ANGELES - smog, traffic, and ... Disneyland? |

My fiancée, Inessa, and my friend Dmitry went to Los Angeles for a solo reason - go to Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park to ride the roller coaster. After a five hour ride from Sacramento, we got to our hotel. We were so tired that we only managed to eat and go to bed. The next morning we survived traffic and arrived to Six Flags. The rest of the day was fun, even thought the park was full of people. We had fun, ate very overpriced food, drank lots of water, and rode all roller coasters.

Los Angeles - place where Hollywood, stars, Disneyland, Beverly Hills collide with smog, traffic, noise, and miles and miles of concrete and asfalt blasting you with its heat. This was my first impression of LA when Inessa and I went there couple years ago. Well, Inessa decided to take several pictures, and the only ones we got back from film development were this stupid pictures of downtown LA...

Los Angeles is second biggest concrete jungle after New York. I don't really like concrete that much - in my home town, Almaty, there is a lot of green, trees, parks, etc. - here, in LA it is different! The city is so big, that it is actually several cities that are combined together. Of course, rich people live in green areas by the ocean, and others live in more densely populated areas.

I guess it is getting better smog-wise, but it is still pretty bad. If you driving South I-5 you cannot see the downtown pictured above until you get within 3-4 miles to it.
