BEING AROUND THE WORLD - well, not all over the world, but |
| |
I welcome those who have decided to view this page. It is not a travel agency web site, but I have some useful information for those who like to travel and have fun! All the information is real because I actually travelled to those places and seen and felt the things I'm writing about. So, what do you want to know? Maybe first, where have I been and what my impressions are? Below is the list of places I've visited last two years or so.
COMPLETE LIST - all my documented trips

CALIFORNIA |
| |
California - the golden state. When I first came to America I went to northern California, to the city of Sacramento. I really liked that area, it is really close to Bay area (San Francisco and San Jose) and lake Tahoe (Reno). I liked the climate, the people, and the city.
SACRAMENTO - the state capitol and my american home
SAN FRANCISCO - the city by the bay
LOS ANGELES - the heart of Southern California

COLORADO |
| |
Colorado - skiing in Aspen, Denver Broncos football, and Mile High City. OK, I don't know much about the place, however it didn't stop us from taking a road trip there in May 2001.
DENVER - road trip from North Dakota in May 2001.

NEW YORK |
| |
New York - the empire state. I have visited NYC twice and it is a real empire by itself. Read about my impressions of New York City, how I visited Manhattan, Times Square, checked out couple of russian restaurants and shops, rode the subway (and ate at Subway) and visited the Wall Street. Of course I would never want to live in the place lake that however it is a good place to visit. Expensive, thought.
NEW YORK CITY - the largest city I've been

CANADA |
| |
Oh, Canada - the land north of the border. I have been to Canada twice, both times to Toronto and Niagara Falls. The place that is known for good beer, friendly people, and lots of snow. Toronto is no=more than that. It is a major financial and cultural center of North America, while Niagara Falls is a worldwide known waterfall that attracts many throughout the world.
TORONTO (2000) - this city knows how to party
NIAGARA FALLS (2001) - the greatest waterfall in the world

OREGON |
| |
For some reasons Oregonians don't like Californians. Oh well. The cool thing is that they are required by law on the gas stations to fill your car by attendants. Oregon has great forests so we decided to go camping over there. When we got to Oregon campgrounds were closed, fortunately we found one that was open and stayed there for few days for free.
CAMPING - BBQ, fire, stars, great time with friends

US NATIONAL PARKS |
| |
I don't think it is fair to charge people to get in to what in reality belongs to them in the first place. But on other hand the National park system is great for preserving nature and wildlife. Let's see - I still like the things are run at home (Kazakhstan) - go and camp anywhere and you don't have to pay for it!
NATIONAL PARKS PAGE - Good starting point
YOSEMITE - California's favorite park
YELLOWSTONE - the home of the Old Faithful geyser
MT. RUSHMORE - presidents cut out in stone
ZION - I love this park!
ARCHES - home of the world's famous Delicate Arch

WASHINGTON D.C. |
| |
My fiancée Inessa goes to school about an hour away from this city so I have been visiting nation's capitol few times. Well, most of the time it was to the airport and out of the crowded city, but few times we went into town and visited the White House and the Capitol Mall.

MARYLAND |
| |
I just love the state flag - it reminds me of the medeval England and all the knights and stuff... Well, MAryland does have a lot of history. I admit there is still lots more for me to see but I have been to Baltimore several times.
BALTIMORE - old city with lots of history

CHICAGO |
| |
Now I know why they call it a Windy City! Wow, it was one of the most exciting cities I have visited. I was really excited to go up on top on Sears Tower - what a view! Additionally, the lake provides the city with a nice place to view the skyline. Few of my friends and I went to Chicago for the auto show. So check out the site about our adventures.
CHICAGO AUTO SHOW 2000 - lots of nice cars and more

MINNESOTA |
| |
Not to many people know much about this state. Since I have went to school in the neighboring state I have been to Minnesota a few times and have few friends from there. It is not just snow and farms. Minnesota has a lot of lakes and people are crazy about fishing, Vikings Football and Timberwolves Basketball. Minneapolis is the largest city in the northwest and it is a great one. It is freezing cold in winter, but during summer it is really green and warm.
MINNEAPOLIS - more than just snow and farms

LAS VEGAS |
| |
Las Vegas, Nevada - sin city, the city that never sleeps. And I'm going to live and go to school there starting Fall 2001. I really like the area despite the heat. I like the southwest style of living and Vegas is the place that blends many cultures, it is a crossroads of many generations, cultures, and historic events.
FABULOUS LAS VEGAS - welcome to sin city
UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA, LAS VEGAS - my school

FLORIDA |
| |
I was so sick of snow and cold weather that my fiancée and I decided to drive to Florida for our winter break. So we drove from the snowy Washington DC to a warmer and warmer climate and soon we were in Florida and enjoyed time under the sun, on the beach, shopping, and relaxing in general.
ORLANDO - the entertainment center of Florida
MIAMI - ocean, beach, clubs, fun...
