STAR CITY OF THE NORTH STAR STATE - Minneapolis and St. Paul story |

Minneapolis. I think if I were to rate all the big cities I would rate Minneapolis - St. Paul in the top ten of my favorite cities. I'm familiar with the city mostly by travelling to the airport from my college town. MSP was the closest big airport that I could use to fly rather inexpensive. Anyway, despite harsh winters, summers in Minneapolis are very nice and it is a green city, rather spread out among many lakes. It has all characteristics of the big city, including high-rises in downtown, big university, nice suburbs, and etc.

I have probably flew out of Minneapolis at least 10 times for the past two years. It is a really nice airport, but in winter they take forever because they have to deice the planes and remove the snow.

While in Minneapolis you have to go to the largest mall in the USA. Mall of America - I just like to go there, walk and look, just to see the people stores, and enjoy a nice ice-cream at Haagen-Dazs.

I really like downtown Minneapolis. It has a very modern look and a home for many large companies, such as Target, US Bancorp, etc.

In winter it get really cold, I know! So many building s in downtown are connected via walkways to keep you worm and way from the winter.

Minneapolis is a big art and education center. Here is the world famous composition "Spoonbridge and Cherry" in one of the many Minneapolis Museums.

|
Last time I have been there I have visited Minnesota Museum of Art, pictured above. It is a really large museum housing large permanent collection or paintings.
