  •   SPRING 2004  - this time its for real!

This time there was THE PLAN: we go there and hike Angel's Landing. So we were prepared, lots of water, trail food, snacks, lunch, Gatorade, sunblock, etc.

We went all the way to Lower, Middle and Upper Emerald Pools and then made our way to Angel's Landing. It was a great sunny day and Inessa stopped to look at every blooming cactus on the way, making our trip a little longer than planned!

2002 TRIPS  - we visited the park several times in 2002

Since we had an Annual Pass to all National Parks (You can get one here), we had to use it. Fortunately, Zion National Park is only 2 hours from Las Vegas and can be a great day trip destination.

As of middle of 2002 cars are not permitted in the park and all visitors must take park shuttles, bike, or walk. I think it is a great idea that helps to preserve this beautiful place.

SECOND VISIT (1998)  - climbing Angel's Landing on the way to Vegas

I admit, it wasn't a smart move - having a 20oz water bottle for 3 people during the three hour climb to the top of the Angel's Landing, the spectacular cliff in Zion. But we survived, as you can judge from the picture on the right. This picture in taken on top of the cliff, behind us are the walls that form Zion Canyon. This time we were in a hurry to get back to Las Vegas, so we spend only half day in Zion, but the memories will stay with us for a long time.

NATURAL WONDER  - of this park is the most enchanting!

I have been to Zion National Park more than any national parks combined. First I have visited the park when I was attending my first college, Dixie College, in St. George, UT in 1996-1997. Then when I was in Sacramento, Ineesa, her friend Yuliya and I went to Vegas and on the way stopped in Zion. You can read all about that trip in the Vegas section of my Adventure section. And finally, after graduating with my Bachelor's Degree and getting accepted to UNLV for my MBA program, Inna and I have visited Zion again.
